There are a number of grant and loan programs providing funding to Kansas organizations and Internet service providers to boost broadband access and adoption. Federal Grants and Loans

United States Department of Agriculture Farm Bill Broadband Loan Program
In March 2011, the USDA released new information for applicants for its broadband loan program for rural areas. The program is designed to provide loans for the costs of construction, improvement, and acquisition of facilities and equipment to provide broadband service to eligible rural communities.

Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP)
BIP makes loans and grants primarily to Internet service providers for broadband infrastructure projects. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service.

Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP)

BTOP provides grants to various organizations ─ such as providers, nonprofits, government entities, educational institutions, libraries, and hospitals ─ to fund broadband infrastructure, public computer centers, and sustainable broadband adoption projects. BTOP is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications Information Administration.
